In July 2026, the Shanghai Prospect Development Institute (SPDI), together with Longcharm Education, and in collaboration with public-interest partners including Shanghai Velowind Network Technology Co., Ltd.（Velowind) and Dajia Insurance Beijing Branch, joined the School of City Economics and Public Administration, Capital University of Economics and Business (CUEB) in supporting a 15-day summer social practice programme in Heba Village, Majiang County, Qiandongnan Prefecture, Guizhou Province.
From the launch ceremony to rural classrooms, from public-interest teaching to community research, from resource support to youth engagement, the participating organisations worked alongside university students and local communities with a shared vision: to connect urban and rural communities through education, empower young people through real-world experience, and contribute to rural revitalisation through long-term educational engagement.
With a history spanning more than three decades, SPDI has remained committed to its founding mission of serving society through education and talent development. Over the years, the Institute has continuously promoted continuing education, international educational exchange, professional development and public-interest initiatives. SPDI firmly believes that the true value of education lies not only in cultivating capable individuals, but also in nurturing people with a strong sense of social responsibility.
Longcharm Education shares the same belief that education should inspire both personal growth and social engagement. By integrating international educational resources with experiential learning, Longcharm strives to help young people broaden their global perspectives while developing a deeper understanding of Chinese society through meaningful community service. Partnering with CUEB—an institution that has devoted ten consecutive years to supporting Heba Village—has been both an honour and a valuable opportunity to contribute practical support to rural communities, bring quality educational resources to local children, and provide university students with authentic opportunities to learn through service.
As an important partner in this initiative, Velowind contributed its expertise in outdoor sports, cycling culture and rural tourism development. Through active participation in cycling route planning, rural cultural tourism experiences and youth engagement activities, Velowind explored an innovative model that integrates sports, cultural tourism and public welfare, creating new possibilities for sustainable rural development while encouraging young people to better understand, appreciate and serve local communities.
During the programme, Dr. Lina Wang, Board Member of SPDI and Co-founder of Longcharm Education, delivered a public English class for students at Heba Primary School and joined the university team and Velowind representatives in community visits and field activities. Through interactive learning and encouraging conversations, the children gradually gained confidence in expressing themselves in English. Their smiles, curiosity and enthusiasm reminded everyone involved that the true impact of education is often found in the smallest moments of encouragement, recognition and companionship.
The decade-long commitment of Capital University of Economics and Business to Heba Village deeply inspired everyone involved in the programme. For ten consecutive years, generations of university students have travelled to Guizhou, bringing their knowledge, passion and sense of responsibility to rural communities. SPDI and Longcharm Education are honoured to become part of this meaningful journey, working alongside the university to create lasting value for rural communities, local children and future generations.
As Dr. Lina Wang remarked:

The programme brought together universities, public-interest organisations and corporate partners, demonstrating the power of cross-sector collaboration. It also attracted widespread public attention and was featured by leading media outlets including Xinhua News Agency and Guizhou Colorful New Media, highlighting the positive impact of educational initiatives in supporting rural revitalisation, youth development and social responsibility. Together, SPDI, Longcharm Education and Velowind have explored new approaches that integrate education, youth engagement, rural cultural tourism and sustainable community development, providing a valuable example of how social organisations and enterprises can contribute to China's rural revitalisation strategy.
Looking ahead, SPDI will continue to uphold its long-standing commitment to education, public service and talent development. Together with Longcharm Education, China Culture Promotion Association Industrial Investment Association, Velowind and other like-minded partners, SPDI will continue working alongside universities such as Capital University of Economics and Business to promote youth development, rural revitalisation and public-interest education. Through sustained collaboration, the Institute hopes to bring more high-quality educational opportunities to grassroots communities, empower young people through meaningful practice, and help create brighter opportunities for rural areas across China.
