27 July – Mr. Mengda Zhao, Board Member of the Shanghai Prospect Development Institute (SPDI) and CEO of Longcharm Group, together with Dr. Lina Wang, Board Member of SPDI and Co-founder of Longcharm Education, met with Dr. Peter Bolgar, Head of Summer Programmes and International Education at Fitzwilliam College, University of Cambridge, and Dr. Alex Carter, Associate Professor and Academic Director for Philosophy and Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Cambridge Professional and Continuing Education (PACE), to discuss opportunities for collaboration in international education, continuing education and summer programmes.

During the meeting, Dr. Wang introduced the history, organisational development, key areas of activity and strategic vision of the Shanghai Prospect Development Institute. She also shared the Institute's recent achievements in international educational exchange, talent development and continuing education.

Dr. Peter Bolgar presented an overview of Fitzwilliam College's summer programmes and international education initiatives. He expressed confidence in the long-term potential of the Chinese education market and highlighted opportunities for future collaboration in adult continuing education, international education programmes and high-quality summer courses.

Dr. Alex Carter introduced the work of the University of Cambridge Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) in lifelong learning, professional education and interdisciplinary studies. He also expressed his hope of establishing a long-term partnership with the Shanghai Prospect Development Institute to explore broader opportunities for international educational collaboration.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to strengthening communication, promoting the exchange of educational resources and exploring practical areas of cooperation. Both sides agreed to continue discussions with a view to advancing educational collaboration and fostering international talent development between China and the United Kingdom.
