
24 July – Dr. Lina Wang, Board Member of the Shanghai Prospect Development Institute (SPDI) and Co-founder of Longcharm Education, met with Dr. Kamran Yunus, Director of Admissions at Downing College, University of Cambridge, to discuss opportunities for international collaboration in continuing education and academic engagement.
During the meeting, Dr.Lina Wang introduced the history, mission, organisational development and strategic vision of the Shanghai Prospect Development Institute. Established in 1993, SPDI is a non-profit educational organisation dedicated to professional development, international educational exchange and lifelong learning. Over the past three decades, the Institute has developed extensive experience in executive education, teacher development and international cooperation.
Dr. Kamran Yunus shared an overview of Downing College's current engagement with China and highlighted the College's continued interest in strengthening its connections with the Chinese education sector. He expressed confidence in the long-term potential of the Chinese market and welcomed further dialogue on opportunities for collaboration in the field of continuing education, particularly in programmes designed for adult learners and professionals.
Both parties agreed that there is significant potential to deepen cooperation in areas including continuing education, academic exchange, executive development and international talent cultivation. They expressed their shared commitment to maintaining close communication and exploring mutually beneficial initiatives that contribute to stronger educational partnerships between the United Kingdom and China.
